At a talk titled, ‘The Studios of Raja Ravi Varma’, held at the National Gallery of Modern Art in Bengaluru on April 25, author, art collector and lawyer, Ganesh Shivaswamy talked about certain aspects of the artist’s work, which may have been overlooked by viewers.

In ‘The Studios of Raja Ravi Varma’, Ganesh touched upon the core of An Everlasting Imprint – The Epics Imagined, the fourth volume in a six-part series on the artist, which was released in January this year. The act of creation is usually a private moment, and when it comes to most artists, the process unfolds in secrecy with the creator reticent about the details. Raja Ravi Varma was no exception.
